How to Connect Your Hotel to Expedia

Expedia is one of the largest online travel agencies in the world, giving your property access to millions of travelers across Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, and Orbitz. Connecting it to HotelBee ensures that your rates, availability, and reservations stay perfectly synchronized in real time, so you can manage everything from one centralized dashboard without the risk of double-bookings or manual errors. Below you will find a clear, step-by-step guide to set up the connection.

Before You Start

Make sure your property is fully live on Expedia Partner Central, with your room types, rate plans, occupancy settings, and content already configured. On the HotelBee side, confirm that the corresponding room types and rate plans exist, since you will need them during mapping. HotelBee uses Channex as its connectivity provider for Expedia, but the process is fully managed from within HotelBee and Expedia Partner Central — there is no separate platform you need to access.

Step 1: Access Expedia Partner Central

Log in to your Expedia Partner Central account. Expedia typically requires two-factor authentication when changing connectivity settings, so make sure you have access to the device or email used for verification.

Step 2: Open Connectivity Settings

In the left-hand menu, navigate to Rooms and Rates, then select Connectivity Settings. This is the area where you authorize a channel manager to send rates, availability, and receive bookings on your behalf.

Step 3: Select Channex as Your Provider

Click Edit and search for "Channex" in the provider list. Select Channex as your provider for both Connectivity and Bookings to enable a full two-way connection. If your property is already linked to a different provider, disconnect it first. Click Save and continue, then Confirm to send your request. Expedia may take a short period to approve the connection — once approved, you can proceed to HotelBee.

Please note: once the connection is confirmed, rates and availability can no longer be edited directly in Expedia Partner Central. From that moment, all updates must be made in HotelBee, which will push them to Expedia automatically.

Step 4: Create the Expedia Channel in HotelBee

In HotelBee, open the Channel Manager and create a new Expedia channel. Enter your Expedia Hotel ID — found at the top of your Expedia Partner Central dashboard — along with the property's currency. Click Test Connection to verify that the two systems are communicating correctly.

Step 5: Map Your Rooms and Rate Plans

This is the most critical step. You will see your Expedia rooms and rates on one side and your HotelBee inventory on the other. Match each room type and rate plan carefully, paying attention to occupancy levels and pricing structures. For properties with similar room names, use the Expedia room ID to ensure each one is mapped to the correct counterpart.

Step 6: Activate and Go Live

Once mapping is complete and saved, open the Actions menu and select Activate. From this point on, your rates and availability will sync automatically, and every Expedia reservation will appear directly in your HotelBee dashboard.

A Final Recommendation

After going live, monitor the first few reservations carefully and review your occupancy and derived-rate settings in Expedia Partner Central to ensure everything is aligned. If you encounter any issues, the HotelBee support team is always available to assist you.
