How to Add HotelBee to Your Phone's Home Screen

HotelBee runs entirely in the browser, which means there is nothing to download from the App Store or Google Play, and no updates for your team to install. The platform is always current and accessible from any device. The only thing a browser-based system appears to lack is an icon on your home screen — and that is easily resolved. Every modern mobile browser allows a website to be saved as a shortcut, and once this is done, HotelBee opens with a single tap, in full screen, exactly like a native application.

The procedure differs slightly between iPhone and Android, but in either case it takes less than a minute.

On iPhone and iPad (Safari)

  1. Open Safari and go to the HotelBee address you normally use to sign in. It is advisable to log in first, so that the shortcut opens directly on your dashboard.
  2. Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen — the square with an arrow pointing upwards. On iPad, it is located in the top toolbar.
  3. Scroll down the list of options and select Add to Home Screen.
  4. Confirm or edit the name that will appear beneath the icon, for example "HotelBee" or "Front Desk".
  5. Tap Add in the upper right corner.

The icon now appears on your home screen, and tapping it launches HotelBee in its own window, without the browser's address bar or tabs. If your staff use Chrome on an iPhone, the same option is available within its share menu, although Safari remains the most dependable route on iOS.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome and navigate to the HotelBee sign-in page.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the browser.
  3. Select Add to Home screen. Depending on your version of Chrome, this option may instead be labelled Install app.
  4. Review the name shown in the dialogue box and tap Add or Install to confirm.
  5. If prompted, choose Add automatically to let the system position the icon, or press and hold to place it yourself.

Chrome may also display a small banner inviting you to install HotelBee while you are browsing. Tapping it produces exactly the same result.

Managing the Shortcut

The shortcut behaves like any other icon on your device. It can be moved between screens, placed inside a folder, or added to the dock. To remove it, press and hold the icon and select the delete or remove option — this deletes only the shortcut, never your HotelBee data or account.

A Practical Recommendation

We suggest that every member of staff who works with HotelBee from a phone or tablet — reception, housekeeping, restaurant and management alike — sets this up on their first day. It removes the daily friction of opening a browser, locating a tab and typing an address, and it ensures the team reaches the right screen immediately during a busy check-in.
